With the improvement of human living standards and the development of science andtechnology, video surveillance, which technology has continually moved forward. Videosurveillance began with the original analog video surveillance has gradually developed intoa mixed analog and digital monitoring system, as well as the development of the networkand intelligent all-digital direction. In addition, the video surveillance applications areincreasingly being used in many places, such as, an important sector archives, museums,banks, etc.; highways, railway stations and other transport sectors; community, schools,shopping malls and other places, and so on. As is known to all,video surveillance isnecessary in these places to guarantee people’s living, production and job security.Wireless video surveillance system is the latest video surveillance system, whichcombines the H.264encoding algorithm and3G wireless transmission technologiestogether perfectly. It highlights the special nature of embedded devices, and solvesproblems of monitoring system of complex traditional PC-emergence which are lowstability and low cost. From the B/S and C/S two kinds of architecture, to monitor thevideo display.This article describes the overall framework for wireless video surveillance system,which includes the software architecture and hardware design of video surveillance systems.The centre of wireless video surveillance terminal is S3C2440microprocessor, whichextends peripheral hardware circuits and structures embedded hardware platform, it havingan independent design of remote video monitoring system based on B/S architectureimplementations.According to the functional requirements of a wireless video surveillancesystem,appropriate Linux operating system for video surveillance terminal is built, whichincludes the configuration programmed bootloader, Linux kernel tailoring andconfiguration, as well as root file system and so on.On the basis of improving video surveillance system software on the terminal, wirelessvideo surveillance system conducts application software will be designed. First of all, thecamera captures video files, Video4Linux is used to provide data structures and programming interface, and image acquisition is completed. Then through the image ofH.264coding theory, the collections of images are compressed and H.264video images areencoded by software means. The design of the OSI of The physical layer, data link layer,transport layer, application layer configuration, and the video transmission can be transportthrough the3G network to the server. Finally, JAVA Applet program is written andembedded into web pages, the browser displays area of video surveillance monitor, thevideo can display by B/S architecture, MFC program is written in windows and to generateclient software. Finally,the video can display by C/S architectureThis article divides the video surveillance system into several parts, includinghardware design, software design, and application software design. After the realization ofthe function of each module and commissioning of the machine,3G wireless transmissionof video surveillance systems is achieved and the performance indicators has been testedwith satisfactory results.
