The intelligent well technology is a newly developed reservoir technology in the pasttwo decades on the abroad, it conforms decision-making information by real-time monitoringof downhole equipment’s working condition and reservoir temperature, pressure, and otherparameters, combining with the reservoir analysis software. Next, through the control systemin the ground remotely control the downhole fine flow control valve’s opening degree, theinterlayer splitter and the branch wellbore’s open and close, et.al, finally, optimize thereservoir exploration and increase oil recovery ratio.In this paper, we explore the feasibility of RFID used in the data transmission ofintelligent well’s downhole equipment to transport the control commands and its maintechnical parameters, on the basis of in-depth study of it. We study the principle of RFIDsending data, analyze the factors that affect its work performance, combining with the actualconditions of the downhole environment select RFID system operate frequency is125KHz.We select the Microchip corporation PIC16C56A as the main chip design the readerhardware circuit, which is based on the choice of system working frequency, including themain chip circuit, carrier channel, detection circuit and filtering amplification shaping circuitdesign, then complete the work of designing PCB, soldering components and hardwaredebugging. According to the operating frequency of the RFID system and tubing sizeparameter to determine the reader antenna’s geometry parameters, number of turns, and thereader’s matching capacitance, design the tag’s structure and produce some samples, completethe entire RFID system design work finally. On the basis of reader antenna characteristic parameters which have been calculated, weanalyze the RFID system with finite element method, simulate the magnetic flux densitydistribution on tubing annulus under different operating conditions, and acquire the mainfactors which affect the operation of the system. Then, design ground simulation equipment,test the RFID system on the ground and compare it with the finite element analysis result,analyze the different factors’ influence on system operate stability, provide theoretical supportfor RFID technology used in oil field control downhole equipment.
