Chinese medicine is a treasure of traditional Chinese culture. The meridian theory, as thecore content of Chinese culture, is the intersection point of traditional science and modernscience. By using system science and information technology to achieve the modernization ofChinese medicine theory, Chinese medicine can be further enhanced the status of medicine in theworld. With the development of modern medicine, some advanced objective medicine detectionmethods have appeared, which proves the objective existence of the meridians from differentperspectives, and provides a theoretical basis for clinical research.Currently the determination of the exact location of meridian relies mainly on individualclinical experience, lack of scientific, systematic experimental demonstration. Furthermore, thewell-known acupuncture method is also lack of accurate norms when choosing points, and thedoctor’s clinical experience subjective mind, large arbitrary and poor accuracy will affect theacupuncture treatment, besides, these weaknesses will also hinder the development of Chinesemedicine and the process of promoting to the world. Chinese medicine theories and teachingmaterials of meridians and acupuncture, or the demo icons for computer presentations for peopleto learn and read are mostly two-dimensional human body image, which does not conducive foracademics to do multi-level, multi-angle and three-dimensional observation. Therefore, with theuse of new technology, it’s necessary to develop a computer-based and three-dimensional modelwhich is able to accurately find meridian location.The three-dimensional positioning detection and display system of meridian points canaccurately extract the body meridian points, and restore it into three-dimensional visual images.This article accomplishes the high speed acquisition of meridian information and thesynchronous positioning of location coordinates. Considering the large amount of data formeridian information and coordinates information, the work is divided into supervisorycomputer and subordinate computer mode to achieve. Subordinate computer uses3sensors/6DOF magnetic tracking system named Wintracker, sensor detector attaches to electrode probe ofmulti-channel meridian detector, which achieves the meridian points translation information (x, y,z) and rotation information (α, β, γ) collection, and accurately send the data package tosupervisory computer through the serial port. Supervisory computer uses multi-channel meridian detector to extract meridian points, when the electrode probe glide the test zone, the impedanceinformation of16channels are obtained. By using the software platform Visual C++. NET2005,the meridian impedance information is processed, and then the processing results andsimultaneous orientating meridian location are showed and processed real-timely, at last,OpenGL3D rendering technology is used to achieve the meridian line.The system combines advanced technology of modern information processing withtraditional Chinese medicine theory, which has the advantages of inspection efficiency, goodreal-time performance, visual display and convenient operation and so on. In different testconditions, taking human body as a measured impedance values to do the tests, and the resultsshow that the system is feasible to achieve the acupuncture point extraction and positioning,completes the three-dimensional paint of Meridian line, and has some pioneering and creativity.
