As the rapid development of new material technology and sensor technology, avariety of positioning technology applied in industry, agriculture, transportation, medical,Marine, aviation, and in the social life. Accurately determine the position of the queen ina hive is very important for the beekeeper.The main idea of the positioning system is by getting the magnetic intensity of thepermanent magnet which is carried by the queen, then calculate the position of the queen.This paper studies the overall design of positioning system, on the basis of relevanttheoretical research about the magnetic field and magnetic detection, focus on researchmagnetic positioning method. Magnetic tagged positioning method using thepenetrability of the magnetic field, realize the visual condition of positioning, and it alsohas the advantages of high positioning accuracy and simple operation, combined with theunique characteristics of the queen, using finite element method to calculate the magneticfield,select strong magnetic NdFeB45as magnetic material, φ5×3mm cylindricalpermanent magnet as a magnetic markers placed on the queen, when positioning, throughthe sensor array which composed of sensors arranged outside the hive to detect thepermanent magnet, and then by LM algorithm of nonlinear least square positioningalgorithm, according to the objective function obtain the optimal solution of theequations, thus it is concluded the coordinates of the queen.The positioning software of this paper adopt the STM32as control unit, sensorselect HMC1023which is a three axial magnetic resistance sensor (ARM), mapped theprinciple diagram of the data acquisition scheme, analyzes the process of data collectionthe disturbance error produced by the magnetic field, ensure the correctness of thelocalization algorithm. The positioning software has the advantages of stability, goodreal-time performance, easy to operate.
