After years of the base site development, the space of antenna feeder’sconstruction is so limited, and because of radiation and tenement coordination, it isextremely difficult in antenna feeder’s station construction. The size of commonTD-LTE (Time Division Long Term Evolution) antenna is larger and wider whichbring many problems, antenna construction is more difficult, so miniaturized antennahas become the research focus.In this topic, we compare these two types of antenna in TD-LTE network,summarize network performance and the application of scenarios. From three aspectsto evaluate, a single site coverage and performance, scale network quality and outdoorsite cover indoor area. Divided into nine test items,include single site remote, singlecell coverage, single cell and single user Call Quality Test, network coverage,handover success rate, attach success rate, front-to-back ratio, horizontal beam width,high-rise building scene, etc. Analysis of the performance and applicable scenario,experience summary has be done for subsequent commercial construction.Test results show that the performance of the smart miniaturized antenna havereached or close to the traditional large antenna, basically it has the ability ofcommercial trials, and there is a vast and good application prospect in dense urbanareas and the site construction difficult area. Miniaturized antenna for some specialareas using,such as,fasten network engineering construction, the blind and hot pointarea, the site station spacing of less than400m within the dense urban area,thehigh-rise buliding,individual construction surface limited area, can be used this typeof antenna. But due to the miniaturized antenna vertical beam width is bigger, usingsame frequency network can lead to serious frequency interference between cells, sodeployment is still recommended to use better performance of large antenna.
