The ECG (electrocardiography) monitoring plays a key role in diagnosisand prevention of cardiovascular disease. The symptoms of coronary heartdisease are more likely to appear in the ECG waveform during sports, becauseof the increment of cardiac load. Hence, ECG in the state of motion is moretruly reflecting the health status of the heart. However, the ECG signal isbadly influenced by the noises produced by body motions and environmentduring sport. It sets higher demands on the ECG analog front end circuit inorder to abstract the ECG signal from the noises. This thesis developed an ECG tele-monitoring system for sport utilitybased on smart phone and wireless communication technology. The systemconsisted of a wearing device, a signal acquisition circuit, and analysissoftware running on smart phone. The wearing device was made of elasticwebbing, and contained two electrodes. The signal acquisition circuit wascharacterized by high input impedance and low input bias current, whichenable its strong ability of ECG acquisition. The signal acquisition circuitcould be mounted on the elastic webbing to monitor the ECG for severalhours in the motion state, and transfer the ECG data to smart phone throughBluetooth for analysis, storage and display. The system didn t require the lead wire and conductive paste, which arewidely used by traditional ECG monitoring and Holter systems. This featureenabled the ECG detection during sport without any obstruction. The systemwas able to suppress RF noise, EMG noise, and power line noise withoutdeforming the ECG signal. The experiment demonstrated that the system iseffective during ECG tele-monitoring in the motion state.
