| With the rapid development of wireless communication technology and the increasing communicationdemand, the co-existence of many kinds of heterogeneous wireless networks will be the trend of thedevelopment of the mobile telecommunication. The hot research topic in heterogeneous wireless network ishow to equitably allocate network resources and improve the QoS satisfaction for user, by taking advantageof each access network. The access control scheme is a major part of radio resource management inheterogeneous wireless network.In the first place, the research status of Joint management of Joint radio resource management andnetwork selection access algorithms is analyzed and summarized. After that, network access selectionalgorithms based on characteristics of different network services and load balance is proposed, which has asignificant impact on QoS satisfaction and resource utilization efficiency. In consideration of a variety ofnetwork decision factors and QoS parameters, the dominant decision factors are selected in the networkaccess selection algorithm. The algorithm is composed of two parts, one is the utility function based onAHP which calculates the priority list of access networks, and the other is joint optimization function whichdecides the final access select network, aiming at guaranteeing the QoS of users as well as balancing theload of the networks. Simulation result of matlab shows that the proposed algorithm can make better use ofnetwork resources, and provide users more reasonable choice for network access.The demo system was developed with a lot of mature software and hardware technology, it isoptimized and designed to simulate the network access selection in the real heterogeneous wirelessnetworks. The demo system can show the efficient utilization of radio resource and the effect of the optimalaccess selection network intuitively. The demo system includes two functional modules: one is themultimedia client which is used for showing the multimedia services and can access the heterogeneouswireless networks. The other is network selection management server which is running the access selectionalgorithm. The whole development of system follows the software engineering process strictly, includingrequirement analysis, system design and scheme design. The coding and design of core function modulesare proposed in the thesis.Finally, the system performance test shows that the demo system could satisfy the functionalrequirement that manages the network access selection for the multimedia services in heterogeneous wireless networks. What’s more, test results show the proposed algorithm can improve radio resourceutilization and balance load of networks. The demo system provides an experiment reference forresearching the cooperation of heterogeneous wireless networks. |
