Compared with the traditional visual measurement, the embedded visual measurementhas the advantages of simple structure, low power consumption, convenient installation andapplications and so on. It has a broad application prospect. This thesis designs an embeddedintelligent visual measuring sensor based on embedded technology and visual measuringprinciple. This sensor can be programmed by configurable software and has Ethernet andfield bus communication interface. It simplifies the complex visual measuring systemsimplify into intelligent visual measuring sensor which is easy to use, and is suitable forembedded industrial applications.The main contents of this thesis are as the follows.Firstly of all, according to the development and trend of visual measurement, the designrequirements of the embedded intelligent visual measuring sensor are proposed. The opticalmodel and measuring principle of the embedded intelligent visual measuring sensor aredescribed.Secondly, for industrial field application, a kind of hardware and software system of theembedded intelligent visual measuring sensor based on ARM is designed. For the hardware,the sensor takes ARM microprocessor as its core and in order to adapt to the industrial fieldapplication, it extends the communication interface with CAN bus and Ethernet. Theprototype of the sensor is made. For the software, embedded Linux system is cut andtransplanted, the peripheral driver is programmed, the standard library of the imageprocessing function and communication protocol are designed, and the multithread softwareof the sensor on the application layer is proposed and realized. The configurable software isused to configure the embedded intelligent visual measuring sensor.Finally, a system which is composed by the embedded intelligent visual measuringsensor is developed. The performance of the sensor is evaluated which include the operatingof the graphical configurable software, testing of the data communications and powerconsumption. The visual system is calibrated, and the experiment of the detection andthree-dimensional measurement is conducted.The design of software and hardware of embedded intelligent visual measuring sensor isrealized in this thesis. The sensor prototype and experimental results verify the proposedsystem. Can bus interface and the Ethernet communication interface is convenient for industrial field application, the graphic configurable programming improves the efficiencyfor two times development, embedded design increases the integration and reduce the cost.This has important practical significance for improving the embedded application of thevisual measuring system in the industrial field.
