The design of automatic control engineering in chemical industry always hasproblems as huge design works, mass data, plenty of layout drawings. Besides, needto modify a series of files according to the change of process data. That results intime consuming, manpower cost, also makes the files easy to get wrong and do notconform to the requirements of standardized and informationize design.In this paper, by comparing the domestic and foreign automatic controlengineering design software, proposed a development schema which is using thedatabase to store project data, and using the Office and the secondary developmentof AutoCAD to auto-generate design drawings.First, this paper simply introduced the purpose of the project and the researchbackground, discussed the advantages of using database as a storage medium, andstated the domestic and foreign research status of automatic control engineeringdesign softwares. Then determined the major studies based on the actualrequirements.Second, This paper discussed the performance indicators and functionrequirements of the software, proposed the design scheme of the system and theimplementation method of the software system. Then established the data basemodel and database structure, compared the secondary development methods onAutoCAD and Office nowadays, and presented the specific implementation of thesoftware.Third, By combining the secondary development of AutoCAD and Office withdatabase, programmed the automatic control engineering software based on database.Implemented functions such as data edit and storage, copy and paste, and solved theproblem of data concurrency. Implemented the automatically generation of designdrawings in AutoCAD and documents in Office.Forth, by testing the software’s each functions and the feedback of using thesoftware in a real project, conclude that using the automatic generation ofengineering drawings based on data base can not only effectively complete everydaydesign work, but also significantly enhance the efficiency and accuracy, provided anew idea for automatic generation of engineering drawings.
