Analysis And Development Of The PLM Endorsement Process System In The Insurance Company

This paper investigates the development of the endorsement processing system for insurancecompany. PLM Endorsement is a temporary project team in my company. PLM Endorsementis a new product business for a life insurance company in an outsourcing project in Malaysia.The main purpose of the project is to add the transaction process with a new life insuranceproduct PLM in the original Endorsement system. Endorsement refers to the originalinsurance policies is in force, the contents are subject to change due to the insurance, theinsurance company is respond to the life assured requirements via correcting the originalcontent, that has a complementary role to change the contents of the original insurance policy.After enhancing the endorsement processing flow for PLM product, the insurance companywill modify the contents of the PLM policy to bear insurance liability.The purpose of this project is that after handling an endorsement processing program, thesystem can the update relative data in table succesfully in order to achieve the function ofpolicy change. The PLM endorsement process flow is majoy research object in this paper,which needs to crate a new PLM endorsement registration program to handle the PLMproduct as the product feature and calucation formula are not same between PLM and nonPLM. The both programs of endorsement registration procedures must be handled by eachother, not affected by each other. Also, PLM endorsement processing program is deployed inthe original endorsement processing procedures in order to getting better connetion closelybetween PLM endorsement registration program and the original endorsement registrationprogram. The system will jump automatically to the current PLM endorsement registrationprogram when the operator enter the original endorsement registration program and inputPLM product policy. In addition, this paper also studied on the whole endorsement processingflow which needs to modify the program to do, for example, endorsement submissionprocedure, endorsement worksheet printing program, endorsement receipt printing program,dayend programs and so on. These programs need to be changed, so that the endorsementprocessing flow can handle the PLM endorsement information correctly.PLM endorsement processing system project is developed under the Solaris operating system,which is using the fast development version of IBM Informix-4gl. The paper completed theinsurance treatment of PLM’s overall design scheme which analyse and design the mainbusiness requirement, the database table relationships and important process flow. The systemwas proved steady and reliable during user acceptance testing, and achieved the anticipated effect. The project will be migrated on2014November.
