With the progress of information technology and the population of mobileapplication, a knowledge society is established. The development and popularizationof3G technology make it possible that the public will be able to use mobile devices toenjoy high-speed, high-capacity and high-quality data services. In the development ofknowledge society, the original innovation model basing on scientists and engineershas gradually changed to a new model which depends on user-centered participation.In order to promote the development of knowledge society, many countries havebegun to study and build a user-centric innovation test bed, including Living Labproposed by the EU. Living Lab emphasis the innovation model basing on users,users will be able to participate and put forward constructive idea at the beginning ofbuilding platform.In order to promote the Living Lab, the paper use the current mainstreamAndroid operating system to complete the design of the Living Lab mobile client.Firstly, the Living Lab background of innovative experimental platform and systemarchitecture are described. The paper show how the users participate in the LivingLab’s innovative applications. Then, it will depict application framework of Androidand the build of development platform. At the same time, the technology of programdevelopment will be discussed. The Living Lab mobile client is designed on theAndroid platform, which is able to communicate with server. The technology andprocess in the application development is described in detail.In the experiment, the features of Living Lab mobile terminal are designed fromusers’ need, which is obtained from questionnaires. After users log on the Living Labplatform, they are able to obtain the sampling environmental information and operateremotely. Users are also capable to put forward their suggestion for improving LivingLab platform through network. In the improvement of mobile terminal, the searchfunction of history environment information is added to the system, which is based onusers’ feedback. It is convenient for users to understand the changes of the day.This research is useful to the design of the Living Lab mobile terminal and isinstructive and meaningful to the promoting of the Living Lab.
