Landslide is one of the most frequent geological disasters, which seriouslyendangered human lives and properties. The nationwide casualty caused by landslideamounts to nearly one thousand every year, while the direct economic loss is four billionannually. Hence the research on landslide to prevent and reduce disasters has very greatsignificance from a practical point of view. This thesis summarized the current progress on the prediction and3D visualization oflandslide, and then constructed a landslide prediction model and a3d landscape modelingmodel based upon displacement time series analysis by utilizing the data collected fromBaishuihe landslide in the Three Gorges reservoir area, realizing the evolution process oflandslide and3D visualization simulation based on the time series model of the landslidedisplacement. In the landslide prediction part, we firstly develop the EEMDdecomposition of the landslide displacement sequence which has been monitored, thenmake prediction of each component by using BP neural network respectively, finally sumup all component as the forecasting result. In the3D visualization part, we develop theterrain modeling and visualization simulation. The terrain modeling includes theextraction of three-dimensional coordinate data from contour map of DWG format, gridding of this unordered coordinate data and development of the3D terrain model andthe landslide model by using software VC++to call API of creator on the basis of thosegridded data. In the visualization simulation part, the mathematical model of the landslideprediction, terrain modeling and landslide model are called by the software Vega Prime, and the motion law of landslide is controlled by the mathematical model, which can besimulated interactively under the MFC platform. The evolution process of landslide can be presented dynamically by3D visualization, complex formulas and complicated data can also be displayed, which can be used to makean assessment of landslide process and its hazard consequences. A preliminary research onlandslide visualization can be achieved in this paper, which can provide a reference tolandslide research.
