Along with the computer technology is more and more applied in the field of medicine, medical diagnosis and treatment level has been greatly improved. Among them, virtual endoscopy technique is the application of virtual reality technology in modern medicine, the medical image data, combined with computer graphics, image processing, visualization simulation of internal surface hollow organ morphology, non-invasive, no contact, noninvasive, security and other advantages. Virtual endoscope used in neurosurgery operation, in transnasal approach for skull base operation with the optical fiber endoscope are matched, precise localization of lesions, tumors and surrounding vital anatomical location and their mutual relations.Therefore, virtual endoscopy in neurosurgery operation has high value in clinical application.This paper mainly studies the application of virtual endoscopy in nasal approach neurosurgical operation key technology, put forward the virtual endoscope system solutions, based on the implementation of this scheme of virtual endoscopy in skull base operation clearly display anatomic structure.Specific content is as follows:Research on virtual endoscope is one of the key technology--volume rendering techniques, the RayCasting algorithm for virtual endoscopic visualization, can clearly display the skull base surface and the surface of the following information.Translucent rendering improved illumination model, considering the illumination model for important parameters in--image gradient on nonlinear effects of transparency, can fully display the skull base surface and inner hide interfaces and internal details.Realization of transnasal approach neurosurgical operation of virtual endoscopy, the virtual endoscope developed hardware environment and programming tools, detailed introduced the virtual endoscope system realization plan, including the medical image acquisition and loading, medical image segmentation and registration fusion method, virtual endoscopy of the projection mode and automatic roaming technology.
