As aggravating of global population is ageing, medical issue has become a serious test for sustainable development of society worldwide, Although monitoring technology of human body signals has become more developed, problems still lie in its difficulties to realize data sharing, processing and automatic analysis with convenient technology as well as low cost. With the newly developed technology of Wireless Body Area Network that has advantage in low-power performance in the field of close communication, the previous mentioned problem may be solved soon. The key of this network technology is the design of low-power wireless sensor nodes. The wireless receiver also plays a most important role. A good receiver circuit design provides the basic foundation for data transmission and communication in WBAN.Based in the characteristics of WBAN communication and the latest research progress of receiver design field, this paper proposed a Wake-Up Receiver with high sensitivity, low date rate, energy consumption. The Wake-Up Receiver adopted an uncertain-IF circuit structure with its superiority in reducing the precise requirements of output frequency of local oscillator. It combined low noise amplifier and mixer with a "Double-Gate" structure to simplify the circuit structure to reduce the energy consumption; it achieved more than60db voltage gaining with seven differential amplifier resistance loaded in intermediate frequency circuit part, well realized in signal amplification and filtering. The differential input, source follower with large capacitance load structure was used in baseband signal processing to detect the signal in intermediate frequency. The hysteresis comparator was used to obtain the digital signal and its hysteresis loop significantly reduced the rate error.The Wake-Up Receiver proposed in this paper works at433MHz frequency band. The integrated circuit manufacturing technology was0.13μm CMOS, and the modulation mode was OOK with its simple structure and low energy consumption. With a sensitivity of-70dBm and data rate of25kbps, the total energy consumption were well reduced to27.9μW, with a voltage supply of0.4V.
