ABSTRACT:As an extension of the human vision, video collection and transmission system, which services in the areas of economic and social development, has brought great convenience to people’s work and life. With the improvement of people’s living standard, the user’s requirements are becoming more and more demanding. Traditional video collection and transmission system based on the IP network has many defects such as low resolution, loss of details, short transmission distance and bandwidth. In recent years, in order to meet user requirements better, the new generation of HD video collection and transmission system gains popularity in focus of research and application.PON-Orientied HD video collection and transmission system in this paper uses the CMOS in the HD IP-CAMERA to acquire digital video signal. The procedure is to compress it into three video streams with the max resolution of1080p, and encapsulate them in the RTP packets. And then transmit the massive data of real-time HD video through the PON.After introducing the research background and significance and the present status of system development, this paper expounds the overall structure of system and the key technologies of elements of system. During the development process of HD video collection system, we finish the selection of hardware platform based on DM8127Davinci processor, the software system hierarchy and the installation of software development environment. Then this paper introduces construction and implementation of the chain of system. And it also introduces the module design of system application software and the development process of each module in detail. After that, the functional test of system is completed, In the end, we access the HD IP-CAMERA this paper designed to the PON and switch network in order to complete real-time HD video transmission performance verification of the PON in three aspects. Functional test and performance verification show that this system can not only complete real-time collection and transmission of the HD video, but also effectively ensure the quality and real-time performance of video.
