:With the prosperous development of commerce automation, the POS register system, as the base for commerce automation management, has been widely applied in industries like department stores, supermarkets, restaurants and so on, which plays a significant role in the process of transformation from traditional business to modern business. The traditional POS system is with simple functions, bad user experiences and low level of integration, which cannot satisfy users’ demonds. The PC Based POS system also cannot be widely used for its high price, low level of maintance and poor reliability. The emergence of new technology such as embedded Linux promoted the diversification and integration of POS terminals. The embedded POS system is well welcomed by users because of its low cost, multi-function, high integration and strong stability.This paper analyzed the requirements of POS system, designed the overall architecture and realized the basic functions of POS register system based on Qt/Embedded. This paper also designed the storage structure of rf IC card and realized the function of card detection and data encryption. With the socket communication mechanism, this paper realized the data communication between POS terminals and back-end server. The POS system is a legacy development system and the demand was changing during the developing. We put forward a fine-grained test driven development strategy which effectively improves the unit test coverage and ensures the requirement for sofrware quality of business system.In order to ensure the safety of privacy data of users, we proposed a steganographic encryption algorithm based on space coding in unformatted text. The result of experiment shows that the algorithm is better performed when the plaintext is small.Now the POS register system has been applied successfully in many stores in Changsha. The system is stable and reliable and the performance has reached the requirement of project.This paper contains18figures,8tables and60references.
