With the development of the wireless sensor network (WSN), it is widely used insociety, more and more routing strategies which can reduce the energy consumption ofWSN were proposed. The transmission convergence characteristics of WSN make thebottleneck nodes which are closed to aggregation nodes play an important role in datatransmission, which caused bottleneck nodes exhausted power quickly. The lifetimereduction of the bottleneck nodes would lead to load imbalance in the network.According to this gathering transmission problem, this paper combined with thesymmetry and prediction of topology structure and proposed a method based on squaregrid topology to analyze source routing strategies, then we proved that the analysisindicator of the proposed method is feasible to research routing strategies.Firstly this paper proposes to computing the maximum load and maximum delaytime of the bottleneck node in the Square Grid topology, secondly the paper analyzesthe load distribution and the balance performance of the strategies based on themaximum load, and then analyzes the delay performance of the strategies based on themaximum delay time. Finally the paper computes the maximum transmission energyconsumption and the maximum standby energy consumption by combining themaximum load and delay time, and analyzes the energy consumption of the strategies, and discuss the advantages and disadvantages of the strategies. The experiment showsthat the load balancing and delay performance calculated by the method are agree withthe typical source routing strategies. It shows that the the maximum load and delaytime can evaluate the performance of routing strategies in Square Grid topology andguide the optimizing of the routing strategy in the future.
