Cognitive Radio Sensor Networks which contains the function of spectrum sensing,data analysis and parameter adjustment and so on, can effectively improve the spectrumutilization and network reliability and has tremendous potential and value of application.In cognitive radio sensor network, grid topology can provide the ideal networkefficiency. But the dense deployment of nodes easily brings such problems ascommunication conflict and low efficiency of energy consumption, especially by centralconvergence mode to collect data and communicate between different nodes whichwould result serious transmission bottleneck nodes problems nearby sink node. Themost of present studies focus on the transmission efficiency or load balance, and a smallnumber of studies focusing on the optimization problem of energy consumption inwireless sensor network.To solve the problem of energy consumption optimization for Cognitive WirelessSensor Networks in grid topology, at first,the paper described the energy consumptionmodel of the network and decomposed the overall energy consumption into two parts,i.e. energy consumption for transmission and energy consumption for node standing by.Second the paper introduced two kind of routings for Cognitive Wireless SensorNetworks in grid topology, i.e. load-balance routing and delay-minimization routing.Third, the paper analyzed and compared the energy consumption feature of load-balancerouting and delay-minimization routing and simulation experiments in OMNet++pointed out that load-balance routing and delay-minimization routing can optimize theabove two types of energy consumption respectively. However, none of these routingmethods can minimize the overall energy consumption.With a multi-channel,dual-mode, TDMA media access method to solve the problems of temporal collisionand special collision, proposed hybrid routing strategy that uses different routingmethods in different positions of topology. Simulation experiments in OMNet++analyzed and compared the load on performance bottleneck node and the transmission delay of load-balance routing, delay-minimization routing and hybrid routing, theresults showed that hybrid routing strategy leads to load balance and delay minimization,and can make a smaller overall energy consumption.
