With the development of information technology, material databases have increasingly been used. Especially in recent years CAD and CAR, which are supported by database technology, become more and more important in the production process. Some material databases are established to meet the needs of simulating the production process, which only contain necessary parameters and experimental results. In particular, the types of alloys and properties are quite few, most databases do not allow users to correct or add data. Nowadays, databases which contain comprehensive alloy perfomance are rare.Aluminum Alloy Data Management System (AADMS) is developed in this work. Physical, mechanical, electrical, thermal properties and processability of aluminum alloys are measured by experiments under different heat treatments and shaping processes. The conceptual model of data management system is obtained through data analysis of these parameters. According to the transformational rules and paradigm theory of relational databases, the conceptual model is converted into logical database model which based on relational database management system. Finally, the physical database of AADMS is built on SQL Server2008.AADMS is developed by JavaEE multilayer distributed model which includes client, web, business and EIS (Enterprise Information System) layers. This model can separate the complex business logic and data access logic from the client, enhancing the reliability, portability and expansibility of the system. The system provides scientific classification and management methods for general aluminum alloys, and accomplishes a highly efficient query function for materials and process information. At the same time, the function that users can correct and add data is achieved.MyEclipse-8.5M1-win32, which integrates both proprietary and open source solutions into the development environmentis, is used as a developing tool in this work. The availability of AAMDS is confirmed by the black-box testing.
