The optical fiber sensing signal based on LabVIEW can be fastdemodulated, due to the temperature and strain changes cause the intensity changeand frequency shift of Brillouin scattering signal change, and has great potential inthe practical engineering application. Brillouin scattering distributed optical fibersensing technology can be used to detect the leakage of oil, natural gas pipeline,Bridges, tunnels and other large concrete structure through the change of temperatureand strain. It can control the situations accurate and comprehensive, prevent from fireand collapse accidents, and reduce the loss of property and ensure the security ofpeople’s life. In this paper, the fiber optic sensing signal demodulation based onLabVIEW was proposed, it can be used to solve the problem of weak Brillouinscattering signal, slow demodulation, high cost and traditional complexitytechnology, and it will lay a foundation for novel Brillouin sensors.The main research content includes:(1) The development of the Brillouin scattering distributed optical fiber sensorsis introduced. Two main Brillouin scattering frequency demodulation method areresearched. Meanwhile, the characteristic of Brillouin scattering spectrum andsensing mechanism are analyzed. This provides important theoretical foundation forthe BOTDR system.(2) The simulated BOTDR system the corresponding software system based onLabVIEW are researched. The BOTDR coherent detection system is established, theanalysis and management of the collected data describes in detail(3) The function module system based on LabVIEW software is designed. Thedata acquisition module, data processing module, data storage module are researchedand designed, and expounds the function of each module in detail. (4) The BOTDR data acquisition system is tested and analyzed, and the26kmfiber sensing frequency demodulation results is analyzed. Meanwhile, the mainproblems existing in the system are also discussed.
