Suspension system is the most important one of automobile structure. It is tosupport the body and absorb the impact energy from the road, so, the driver andpassenger’s comfort will be imploving.The performance of suspension directly affectthe car’s comfort and handling stability Accordingly, shock absorption performance ofsuspension system is crucial for cars, and it is also the focus of major car manufacturersto study.After years of development, the technology of passive suspension already quitemature and perfect, but it is limited by the structure form, so the traditional passivesuspension, performance improvement is limited. So, people began to seek new form ofsuspension. With the birth of the semi-active suspension, a newer and more effectiveway will be used for the development of suspension.The semi-active suspension hasbroken through the limitation of the passive suspension, and overcome the shortcomingsof high cost and large energy consumption for active suspension, so it become the focusof research both at home and abroad.In this paper, the modle of2DOF1/4vehicle semi-active suspension wasestablished in ADAMS. It is different for mathematical model study of semi-activesuspension.The PID control method and fuzzy PID control method are put forward.based on the study about the semi-active and active suspension improvement scheme,and through the studying of control theory and optimization algorithm.In addition, inview of the shortcomings that is too subjective and a method for determining theinitial value or too complicated and precision is not high for method of searching thePID control parameters for the fuzzy PID control.And proposed fuzzy PID controlmethod based on particle swarm optimization (PSO) based on particle swarmoptimization (PSO) rule is simple and easy to implement and fast convergence speed,the advantage of less adjustable parameters.The model of controller and random roadinput is established in the MATLAB/Simulink, and the author combined the3D modelof suspension and controller with random road input module.The is Co-simulation forADAMS and Simulink. so, simulation modles of semi-active suspension based on thesethree kinds of control scheme are established.And based on the joint simulationplatform, PID control and fuzzy PID control and fuzzy PID control based on particleswarm algorithm model of semi-active suspension control was builded.TheCo-simulation method imitate the real situation maximumly. And the simulation analysis results are compared with the traditional passive suspension.The results showed that compared with traditional passive suspension, the threekinds of control methods this paper proposed significantly improve the performance ofsuspension, and the Fuzzy PID control method is better than the PID control method inimproving the performance of semi-active suspension, and the fuzzy PID controlmethod based on particle swarm optimization (PSO) is better than the two controlmethods before.
