With the increasingly serious situation of information system security in the reality, itbecomes an urgent problem that how to protect the system safety, traditional security measureshave been unable to meet the demand of system safety protection, facing the information usersapplication requirements of high survival, in order to establish the survivable system that hascognitive ability, the identifiably of survivable system was analyzed and researched, thecognitive characteristics of cognitive computing was introduced into the research on cognitiveability of survivable system, which provided a new thinking for the research of survivable systemwith cognitive ability.Firstly, the paper proposed a multidimensional scalability cognitive reference model forsurvivable system, identified three basic attributes of survivable system, and gave the childattribute sets related to the basic attributes, the establishment of the basic attributes of survivablesystem contributed to the research on cognitive ability of survivable system, research on thebasic attributes were based on symbolic trace method and the matching relation between actionsand attributes, respectively gave the formal description about the three basic attributes. Then, a cognitive unit structure of survivable system with hierarchical cognitive ability wasestablished, and the cognitive loop based on Agent was proposed, too. A self-managementcognitive unit model and cognitive model were proposed by the cognitive loop, a performanceanalysis framework of cognitive model is built according to the transferring graph of system statefor survivability. At last, the proposed cognitive model is solved to get the steady state probability, and wasanalyzed by automate testing tool, the factors of cognitive ability of survivable system wereevaluated.
