In recent years, cloud computing continued development,so that,more and morepeople were familiar with this business computing model,it distributed computingtasks into the resource pool,and allowed all the applications can access resourcesaccording to their needs,such as computing power,storage space and networkbandwidth,and so on.As more and more applications deployed to the cloud, theallocation of different resources according to the types of application was aneffective way to improve resource utilization, and resource monitoring was the basisto achieve the above methods about the allocation of resources.Previous resource monitoring model had been improved during the monitoringprocess in order to adapt to the characteristics of cloud computing environments,byadjusting the monitoring period,the selection of trigger events,etc.,to ensure theaccuracy of the monitoring data,reduce monitoring costs.However, these resourcesmonitoring methods would generate a lot of monitoring information users do notcare during the monitoring process, resulting in a waste of resources;The other hand,the existing monitoring model commonly setted static threshold to switch differentmonitor models,could not switch different monitoring model adaptively according tothe situation of applications and resources,therefore,they could not suitable fordynamically changing cloud computing environment.For the above two issues,this paper proposed an adaptive resources monitoringmodel in the cloud computing environment.Firstly, we analyzed the characteristics ofcloud applications’ demand for resources,and imitated the calculation of sensitivefactor in ecology, calculated sensitive resources of different cloud applications,onlymonitored the sensitive resources,which could reduce the scope of monitoringresources and the waste of resources;Secondly,we proposed an adaptive switching method for sensitive resourcemonitoring model.For the monitoring of sensitive resources,in order to let themonitoring model can adaptively switch,against the special needs of the users,according to the user’s demand for resources,setted user tolerance,selected theappropriate monitoring mode for the user;Against the general users,we choosesuitable monitoring mode by predicting load changes in resources,achievedadaptively monitoring resources.Finally,we verified the adaptive monitoring model and the algorithm proposedthrough the simulation experiments,the experimental results shew that the proposedmethod applied to the resources monitoring in cloud computing environment,it notonly can effectively improve the utilization of resources, but also avoid the networkcongestion brought by monitoring a lot of resources users do not care,it ensured thefreshness and consistency of monitoring resources, and greatly reduced the updatecosts, improved monitoring efficiency.
