Design And Implementation Of Sports Performance Management System In Vocational School Based On Data Mining

Development of the computer and network technology provides technical supportfor informationization construction work in secondary vocational schools. In the pastfew years, Shaxi Vocational of Zhongshan has carried out a series ofinformationization construction work. The school has set up school office automationsystem and administration system. However, there is no operable software in schoolteaching, especially in sports teaching. General PE teachers are facing huge amount ofworkload in examination phase every year. Moreover, along with importance of thestudents’ physique, current PE teaching is facing an important issue which is theimplementation of targeted teaching based on students’ physical test results over theyears. Exploring the application of information technology and data miningtechnology in PE teaching should be combined with the practice of sports teaching.The purpose is to set up a data-mining-based sports performance management systemthrough research. The system can serve sports teaching and improve the teachingquality of physical education.The paper is discussing the implementation and design of sports performancemanagement system. Firstly, it introduces research background and current domesticand foreign research status. It describes the theory of Web technology and data mining,which are used in the process of project developing. User demands are analysed indetail and system data stream is analysed based on demands. Secondly, it exploressystem technical framework and database design approach. On this basis, it carries outthe implementation process of different functional modules in sports performancemanagement and discusses the application of data mining in the system. Finally, thetest scheme of system is given to validate system’s functions. The development ofsports performance management system adopts ASP.NET technology. Databaseplatform is SQL Server2005. Visual Studio2008is selected as program developmentplatform. It adopts three-tier system framwork. Based on above scheme, the resultsare stated as below. It develops a sports performance management system whichincludes functional modules of test type management, test item management, sportsperformance management and credit transformation. By using this system, teacherscan complete sports performance management and statistics work. It releases teachersfrom complex data management and enables them to focus on improving teaching quality. Based on decision tree ID3algorithm, it conducts data mining analysiscombining with students’ test results. It provides valuable constitutive characterinformation of students for teaching. It also provides reference datas for achieving thegoal of improving the quality of physical education.The system uses the idea of data mining, which can provide decision-makingbasis for PE teaching. In addition, adopting three-tier system framework ensuresflexibility and function expandability, and it reduces the workload of maintenancework.
