CNC fiber placement technology is the resin matrix composite auto moldingmanufacturing which is developed on the basis of the fiber winding technology.According to the setting linear trajectory controlled by the computer control system, thefiber placement task of the core mold is completed. It is able to achieve mutative angleplacement,and as to the profiled section,particularly non-revolving body parts concavewith surface, it shows a great advantage. However, the research of the fiber placement forprofiled section in our country has just begun. The key factor that influencing itsdevelopment is the fiber feeding system. Based on this, we have developed the fiberfeeding system which is based on the adaptive PID control algorithm. It is integrated withthe automatic feeding, tension control, intelligent algorithm.First of all, it describes the overall program design of the wire feeding system, andaccording to fiber placement path requirements, it determines the wire feeding system iscomposed by three linear motion coordinates, a rotary motion (A-axis) and fiberplacement head. Through the analysis of principles,we have set up the structure model ofthe system, and made the movement simulation by Delmia. Also, we put forward thehammer-type as the core of tension control system based on the fuzzy adaptive PIDalgorithm. The effect of the tension control has been greatly enhanced. Taking PMAC asthe motion control core, the position sensor as the feedback element, the AC servo motoras the tension actuator, and using fuzzy adaptive PID algorithm as the researchfoundation, the system forms a closed loop control system. The experiment has verifiedthe feasibility of fiber ensionsion control algorithm,which takes the hammer typestructure as the main body and tension control system of fuzzy adaptive PID algorithm asthe core. Then using the CAM software Mastercam, we design the special shapedworkpiece, complete the linear planning, create NC program and make simulation.This paper takes the aircraft flaps as the molding part. In the tension control, throughthe position sensor, the relationship between displacement and acceleration, andcombining the fuzzy adaptive PID algorithm, we take the hammer’s acceleration ascontrol object to control the fiber tension and achieved good results.
