Nowadays, rubber gloves become the commonly used necessities in our daily life,and they also have wide range of applications in other places, such as hospitals, so theyare one of the common items of modern society. The quality of the glove mold directlyaffects the quality of the PVC gloves, so its automatic and intelligent detection processwill bring more advanced concepts of glove produce, and make it can meet the needs ofthe rapid development of the manufacturing industry better. Therefore, to achieve andimprove the intelligence and automation of the mold size measurement process is themajor trend of the current mold detection. The calibration of vision camera is one of thekey technologies to detect mold size, and also the premise of the way to realize smartdetection. To achieve a rapid detection, this paper designed an automatic conveyor systemwhich uses the combination of the belt’s stepper motor and the photoelectric sensors notonly realize the mold to be pinpointed on the conveyor belt, but also achieve the automaticdetection, improve the efficiency of the detection.This paper mainly includes the following aspects:1) System interface designing. Usethe features of VB that design interface convenient as well as its communication functionswith MATLAB to design a set of manual and automatic selection user interface. It looksfriendly and easy to operate.2) Use PLC as a controller to compose a set of automaticconveyor system. It provides a stable movement platform for camera’s identification andcalibration and also for the subsequent work.3) Image processing. The images capturedfrom the camera after filtering, binarization, edge detection and other operations, andultimately extract complete mold edge contour.4) Camera Calibration, It is one of the keyproblems of visual detection system research. Studied the method of single camera visualcalibration, and this calibration process only takes one time on the internal and externalparameters of the camera. Not only simplify the calibration process, but also reducing thecalibration workload.5) Mold size is calculated based on the least squares method.In this paper, there are some theoretical analysis, experimental research, and putforward some new methods in the following areas:mold size for rapid detection hardwaresystem architecture,electrical controls, camera calibration,image processing. These worklay a foundation for the system to make further improve on the accuracy and simplify thecalculation process.
