The thickness, width, mass and intensity of wave are the important factors toevaluate the absorbing structure in the modern technology of wave-absorption.The development of broadening the operation bandwidth has attracted muchattention due to the low profile of its frequency selective surface.In this work, the related theory and simulation analysis were carried out todesign the broadband and high impedance surface for the Salisbury absorbingstructure and Jumman absorbing structure on the base of the thorough analysis ofhigh impedance surface and equivalent circuit.A design concept of radio wave receiving antenna with broad band wasintroduced to the study of Salisbury screen. When the metal patch was used as theantenna oscillator and the position of lumped resistances was used as the antennaports, the scattering feature of receiving antenna was effectively decreased.Whenplane electromagnetic wave was employed as the signal of receiving antenna, thesignal was transferred to the antenna ports. Furthermore, its energy was alsoeffectively consumed by the matched resistance.In order to analyze the absorbing property of Salisbury screen, theelectromagnetic simulate software based on finite element method was employed tooptimize the main parameters of this model.Depending on the optimum results, the responding samples were prepared andmeasured. It was found the thickness and width of our Salisbury screen were greatlyimproved compared with the conventional Salisbury screen. The thickness wasone-eighth of the responding wavelength at-10dB central frequency. However, itsrelative bandwidth was more than80%. Therefore, it was believed that our Salisburyscreen had thinner thickness of adsorbing structure and wider bandwidth of adsorbingwave compared with the conventional Salisbury screen.
