Multi-media video business is now widely used in all walks of life. Videocompression and codec technology plays the extremely important roal in videoapplications. It affects the development of video service largely. ITU-T and ISOjointly developed the H.264/AVC standard and it has been widely applied. On thebasis of H.264/AVC, ITU-T and ISO released the latest video coding standard HEVCin order to improve the HD or ultra HD video coding performance. The neweststandard makes the coding performance improved two times. However, it alsoresulted in an largely increase in the complexity of the algorithm at the same time.This paper wants to study the efficient and simplified algorithm in this context, inorder to reduce the complexity, speed up the encoding and decoding process.In order to reduce the complexity and speed up encoding and decoding process, acombined method has been proposed to simplify the operation in this paper. First, ituses1D-DCT transform with Peano-Hilbert scanning instead of2D-DCT transform inTU. It will accelerate the speed of operation. Second, according to the distribution ofenergy which is after transform coding, default mode coding method will be used toreduce the complexity of the algorithm and improve the coding efficiency.Video encoding and decoding time is much longer in HEVC because of thenumber of HD resolution coding block has increased dramatically. This paper is fromthe aspects of above issue. Instead of2D-DCT transform,1D-DCT transform caneffectively reduce the complexity of the algorithm and the time of program running.Scanning by Peano-Hilbert mode has also been proved to have obvious advantagethan other commonly used methods. Meanwhile, default coding mode has been putforward innovatively. It will select coding mode automatically according to thenetwork environment and difficient parameter settings. This paper accelerates theimplementation of procedures with default mode and1D-DCT transform. In general,the main purpose of thesis is to get much speed with less information loss. Simulationresults show that, this method can improve about13%speed and reduce about14%bitstream while not affecting the visual effect obviously. It is suitable for the differentnetwork conditions.
