Owing to the application of internet of vehicles in city intelligent transportationfield widely used and the quality of wireless communication subsystem of internet ofvehicles is demanded higher, it is very urgent to find a way to detect performance ofwireless communication subsystem of internet of vehicles. Traditional wirelessnetwork testbed does not suit for the wireless communication subsystem of internet ofvehicles which has the features of rapid mobility and dynamic topology, so it isextraordinary to realize a fully functional and easy using testbed for internet ofvehicles.A testbed architecture and design oriented internet of vehicles is proposed basedon the extensive research and summary of testbed for wireless network. Its networkperformance measurement algorithm is designed according to network tomographytechnique. It is appropriate for the network performance indicators including networkround-trip delay, packet loss rate and average throughput to be effectively measured.This article presents a solution to realize a testbed which suit for ZigBee wirelesscommunication subsystem of internet of vehicles. The testbed controls the process ofsending data packet by confirming whether ZigBee device adding in the network ornot. Then the problem of measuring performance indicators of wireless network in themobile condition is solved. In the process of measurement, the testbed only transfersdata packet, when device under test detected left test area, the data will be offlineprocessed. Thereby it improves the real-time characteristics in the process of test. Atlast, through the test of wireless network consists of one vehicle ZigBee device andone roadside ZigBee device at different speed, it is found that ZigBee wirelessnetwork performance is volatile and in decline seriously under the condition of highspeed movement. So the application of ZigBee is limited in high speed condition, alsothe validity of the testbed of internet of vehicles is proved.
