The Broadband MAN is an integrated service network, built by telecommunicationcompany inthe city-level. It’s the bearing platform services of broadband, narrowband,Internet data center and the dedicated Internet access. Which is refers to each local extensionof CHINA169in this article.By the rapid development of broadband services and the deep implementation of"broadband extend speed-raising project" in recent years, the broadband users and thebandwidth has raised year by year. In the future, as our country’s "NetworkConvergence" process moves forward, competition in the telecommunication industries will be more intense. The Broadband MAN as the hard core of broadband services must give aneffectively support. However,the Broadband has gradually exposed some weakness,such as:the vague network structure、the shortage of bandwidth sources and the weakness ofdevice access characteristics. We need to optimize the network structure to meet theraised access bandwidth and the increased user scale. Thus, building the Broadband MANwhich is commensurate with demand of regional business has the top priorityof network-building planning.Based on the present situation of China Unicom’s Broadband MAN in Dongguan, thethesis makes a deep analysis to the man structure and the services situation bottleneck.Combining the reform thinking,The overall network planning and optimization structure model of the MAN areproposed.Through full consideration of the MAN’s present situation, The thesis usesfour-level model including the core layer, the service control layer, the two-layer convergence/network access and the IDC, with core router backup, SR/BAS servicesbypass flow and the Wireless LAN deployment method in order to achieve the MANstructure optimization.
