In recent years, Ad-Hoc network generally has been used in many fields, such astransportation, disaster relief, health care and environmental monitoring, etc. It hasgradually seeped into people’s daily lives. Thus, we need higher network traffic. But,single-channel Ad-Hoc network is difficult to provide greater network throughput dueto the limited system throughput and network bandwidth. However, the multi-channelnetwork environment allows the adjacent nodes synchronous communication onmultiple paths, and it can avoid channel conflict. Thus multi-channel wireless Ad-Hocnetwork can significantly increase network throughput. Therefore, it is important toresearch the routing protocol for multi-channel Ad-Hoc network environment and it is akey factor in the network capacity improvement. Besides, it has great practicalsignificance for promoting the wide application of wireless Ad-Hoc network.Based on the simulation for the typical single-channel routing protocol for Ad-Hocnetworks by NS-2software, we built the multi-channel and multi-interface simulationplatform and analyzed the typical multi-channel routing protocol by simulation.Meanwhile, we made full use of link resources, network resources and user resources tobuild a multi-channel routing protocol for Ad-Hoc network. So we proposed syntheticpath metric SPM and SM-AOMDV routing protocol for multi-channel andmulti-interface wireless Ad-Hoc network based on this. Then we used this simulationplatform to analysis these strategies and protocol under different scenarios to achieveour goals of adapting to the network environment, increasing the network capacity andoptimizing end-to-end performance.Firstly, we developed a comprehensive understanding of the Ad-Hoc network andnetwork routing protocols. Moreover, we introduced the network simulation process ofNS-2and analized the performance evaluation for AODV, DSDV and DSR routingprotocol. Then we compared these three typical single-channel routing protocols forAd-Hoc network by simulating. Besides, we fund the routing protocol suitable forAd-Hoc network and build routing optimization objectives.Secondly, we built the multi-channel and multi-interface simulation platform andanalyzed the typical multi-channel routing protocol M-AOMDV by simulation. Meanwhile, we analyzed the existing multi-channel and multi-interface solution. Thenwe focused on the MIMCS scheme that suitable for wireless Ad-Hoc network to lay afoundation for the design of multi-channel and multi-interface routing protocol suitablefor Ad-Hoc networks. Finally, the synthetic path metric SPM for multi-channel and multi-interfacewireless Ad-Hoc network was proposed. Then we applied it combined with the MIMCSscheme in multi-path routing protocol AOMDV. Therefore, the routing protocolSM-AOMDV for multi-channel and multi-interface wireless Ad-Hoc network wasformed. The SPM strategy took the hop count, link interference, interference betweendifferent channels of the same path CIC and the channel switching cost CSC fourfactors into consideration in AOMDV protocol. Then we compareed the SM-AOMDVprotocol with the typical multi-channel routing protocol M-AOMDV by simulating, andthees experiments proved that SM-AOMDV protocol and SPM strategy both havesuperiority.
