To meet the need of the large public building energy monitoring and management systemof the co-operative enterprise, the energy consumption data acquisition system based onMOM is developed by the author during the course of graduate education.In this data acquisition system, we used the3-tier architecture, the structure ofClient/Server, MySQL and Oracle database and MOM named ActiveMQ to build a platformfor the transferring and exchanging of three kinds of data, such as the historical data of energyconsumption, the real time meter data and the configuration data of the building undermonitoring. It provided fast, precise and dependable data for other system to analyze andpresent. Also, it made meter monitoring, alarm control and the management of configurationof enterprise available. It is the fundamental part of the large public building energymonitoring and management system.The data acquisition system utilized the ActiveMQ middleware as its basics of datatransmission. By that, the diffidence of all kinds of operation systems, network hardware andprotocol are shielded. The MOM we used supports both the Pub/Sub and the P2P transmissionmodel. Furthermore, it provides the mechanism of load balancing to meet the need of largenumber of transmission client and the mechanism of recovery from single point failure. In thelower level of the acquisition system, it includes client software based on WebService toquery the hardware device, a mailbox monitoring software to acquire historical data and so on.All these data the client collect would be sent to the message server with ActiveMQ installed.Also, the topology of the entire system is designed to be scalable to meet the need of rapidgrowth of the number of clients.After being applied, the system won praises for its delicate frame, stability, convenient interface and scalability.
