Traditionally, international TV trade flows have been dominated by finishedprogramme, TV format trade has become the new form of global TV program flow inrecent years. Successful TV format was sold to different countries and regions, byfilling local content, according to local tastes to show "formula" transformation, andbecome a localized version, overcome the "discount culture" brought from the finishedprogram.TV format become a new trends in the global TV program flow.Zhejiangsatellite TV the successful adapt "the voice of China" in2012,and sparked a frenzy,which other satellite TV channel to introduce the foreign TV format.There are nearly48formats broadcast in2013.However, only few of them can take the real influential orratings winner, most did not realize the real value.So, how to adaptation is the keyelement.Taking the television formats as the research object from the theory and applicationparts.this thesis is divided into five parts: the first part has analyzed the the currentsituation and problem of the TV formats, this part has indicated the necessity of thetheory in TV formats; the second part solved the problems appeared in the TV formatsresearch by applying the theories from Communication and Radio and TelevisionArt,international cultural trade and other related theory; defined the TV formats fromthe technical level, industry level and cultural level, at the same time, combing thedevelopment history of the TV formats, and analyzes the features of TV formats,competitive advantage, construct the basic theory of TV formats.the third part has combthe development stage of TV formats in China, and analyzes the TV formats adaptationway and characteristics;the forth part,Take the popular science reality show "superbrain" for example, analysis s the adaptation strategy and experience;the fifth partdraws the conclusion.
