HF Band RFID system is widely used in various industries of today’s society. Thereare a lot of problems to be solved relying on testing technology in the practicalapplication. To determine whether the RFID system is conformed to design standards,RF power and signal conformance testing is the primarily problem in RFID testingtechnology. Based on the in-depth study of HF Band RFID system designing principles,a HF Band RFID system RF power and signal conformance test system is designed inthis paper.Firstly, build test system architecture and divide the test system into three parts:equipment to be tested, interface devices for test equipment and test set subject, aiming atthe communication characteristics of coupled RFID systems. Design test of interfacedevices that contain a test PCD antenna designed primarily for simulating the alternatingmagnetic field of readers, a calibration coil used for detecting of magnetic field strength,two reference PICCs designed for energy transfering with simulated magnetic field and atest device contained of two sense coils and test PCD antenna. Simulate communicationprocess of RFID systems using test interface devices in cooperation of the test set.Secondly, based on RFID radio frequency and signaling conformance test principle,design a test set which contains RF signal generating module, RF power amplifiermodule and DC voltage measurement and display module using modularization. RFsignal generating module is used to generate the RF signal to simulate the alternatingmagnetic field of a reader. RF signal module is designed by C8051F350microcontrollerto control AD9850signal generation chip.RF power amplifier module is designed with astructure of driving amplifier and output amplifier to achieve the enough power to meettesting requirements.DC voltage measurement and display module is used to test the RFpower conformance of RFID system at the advantage of high precision voltagemeasurement function of C8051F350microcontroller, providing hardware foundation forsubsequent testing.Finally, the testing process and result of RF power and signal conformance of HF Band RFID is given.Choose standard RFID readers designed by the chips of MFRC500and CLRC632and a piece of S50tag as equipment to be tested.Test the power andmagnetic field strength generated by readers.Detect and analyze the modulated waveformof readers, the subcarrier load modulation signal of tags. Verify the correctness andpracticability of radio frequency power and signal conformance testing system for HFBand RFID.
