The21st century is a new century with infinite vigor and vitality, economicglobalization and technological innovation will further promote the sustainabledevelopment of the economy, and liberalization of international trade provides abroader space for shipping and port. With the rapid development of containertransport, the amount of labor is growing wider in the port, and because of the longwork, staff appear initiative error that cause container error code and largemechanical collision problem, which seriously affected the loading and unloadingoperations, significant economic losses. Therefore, many domestic container terminalsrecognize the problem, and take different steps to solve the problem, such asincreasing the number of staff, shorten the working time.This paper presents a solution, use the location-based container tire craneoperation control unit, which consists of GPS receiver, the informationcommunication terminal and controller. GPS receiver receives location information tocontrol container tire crane precisely through difference calculation. Informationcommunication terminal receives location information, container operationsinformation, tire crane location information for analysis and calculation with software,then send the serial control signals to the controller.Controller will convert the signalto level signal in order to control tire crane carts institutions and the spreader twist.This program can be effective to avoid the container error code, and large mechanicalcollision caused by driver errors.The controller can also receive twist signal,displacement calculation of the loading and unloading of containers on the loadingand unloading instructions automatically recognized, this feature is to reduce50%ofthe workload of the driver terminal operations, improve operating efficiency.This paper presents a solution, use the location-based container tire craneoperation control unit, which consists of GPS positioning, GIS location information,electrical automation and control, container terminals operating process. Besides, thepaper makes the program system design, hardware design, the GPS location dataanalysis, software information processing, equipment installation and testing.
