With the development of wireless communication technology, the environmentof heterogeneous wireless networks becoming a typical wireless communicationenvironment. Due to the lack of effective mechanisms for coordination and sharingof resources, many problems are more serious, so the integration of heterogeneouswireless networks has become an important trend in the development ofcommunications technology. And the traditional terminals show weakness in accessto a various of Radio Access Technology(RAT), reconfigurable terminals become anew direction to solve this problem as a key technology for heterogeneous wirelessnetwork convergence.Reconfigurable terminal based on software define radio technology is differentfrom traditional terminal that ways of simple integration with a variety of RATchips, which by means of a common hardware platform itself adaptively accordingto the needs programmed to apply in a variety of communication technologies andprotocol standards. This paper focuses on modulation in the reconstruction of thephysical layer, and from the four aspects: proposed strategy, modeling, softwaresimulation and hardware verification to discuss this issue in detail.First, summarize modular and hierarchical thinking of software define radioand its reconfigurable technology, and introduce hierarchical model strategy forreconfigurable terminal which include hierarchical principles of strategy, constituteways and parameter mapping methods. Secondly, according to the hierarchicalreconfiguration strategy, the modulation and demodulation technology is dividedinto four layers, and establish the appropriate model for reconstruction after adetailed analysis of each layer, and describes the mapping between work andmodule parameters. Secondly, simulation is achieved by MATLAB to verify thecorrectness of the hierarchical reconfiguration of modulation and demodulation.Then, the model is tested on a reconfigurable FPGA platform which verify thevalidity of the model on software defined radio platform. Finally, reconfigurableterminals and traditional terminals are compared, which prove the superiority of thereconfigurable terminals in intelligent, adaptive, module reuse and resourceutilization.
