In recent years, multiwavelength fiber lasers have attracted extensiveattention because of their huge potential in versatile applications such asfiber-optic sensors, optical instrument testing, and optical fiber communicationsystems.Compared with other optical amplifier, fiber optical parametric ampliferhave an advantage in realizing multiwavelength fiber laser. With the developmentof high-power erbium-doped fiber amplifiers and tunable light source, FOPA’sperformance has been greatly improved. FOPA-based multiwavelength fiberoptical parametric oscillator,which has a wide bandwidth, multiwavelength laseroutput stability and other characteristics, is an ideal candidate of multiwavelengthfiber laser source. In this thesis, multiwavelength FOPO and related technologieswas studied deeply and meticulously from both theoretical and simulationperspectives.First, described the principles and characteristics of various types of opticalamplifier, especially the advantages of optical parametric amplifier in therealization of the multiwavelength lasers.Second, based on the analysis of coupled amplitude equation describingfour-wave mixing process, a theoretical model of fiber optical parametric amplifierwas built up. The analytical expression of parametric gain and bandwidth werederived under the small signal approximation.Then, the principle of multiwavelength Mach-Zehnder interferometer typecomb filter as multi-wavelength fiber laser mode selection device was studied andimprovements were made. A comparative study of the performance of singlechannel MZI, direct two-channel MZI and isolator enhanced MZI was made fromtheoretical perspective.Finally, the influence of fiber dispersion characteristics, nonlinearcharacteristics as well as the center wavelength and the power of pump light andother parameters on the characteristics of fiber optical parametric amplificationwas studied deeply to provide a theoretical reference for the follow-up work. Then,multiwavelength optical parametric oscillator model were built up withOptiSystem and analysed.
