The performance and functionality of the servo system has been put forward ahigher requirement with the rapid development of the servo system. And the servotest is the only way to evaluate the performance and functionality of the servosystem. So the engineers have focused widely on the test equipment of sever system.Domestically, the servo system has been developed wildly, but the status oflacking comprehensiveness and integration test platform is a bottleneck. A testplatform has been designed to test the whole servo system in this paper. Theperformance and functionality of servo system were discussed in detail and themalfunctions of servo system in application process were presented. Meanwhile, thereasons and harm of malfunctions and the way to avoid their harm were analyzed.To study the testing process and strategies of the servo system, firstly, weanalyze the function of the servo system, including overvoltage protection,low-voltage protection, overcurrent protection, automatic detection of motor phasesequence, compatibility of position feedback, disconnection protection, STOprotection and regeneration loop protection. Those functions were discussed indetail. The possible consequences caused by missing of some functions werepresented and the test schemes were designed. The important characteristics of servosystem concerned in engineering applications are analyzed, including light loadoperating, the limits of acceleration and deceleration, regeneration characteristic,overload characteristic, T-N characteristic. Based on the situation of application ofservo system,qualitative and quantitative analysis were made and different teststrategies were compared and particular test schemes were designed. The testschemes of functions and performances of all test items were analyzed solely andintegrally. The illustration of test process was given in the paper.To verify the feasibility of the design, an experimental platform was built andtwo universal servo system launched by googoltech was selected as test objects.Experimental results show that the whole design is reasonable.
