Synthetic aperture radar gets more and more application in the field ofremote sensing because of its all-time and all-weather imaging advantages.With the advent of high resolution radar, high resolution SAR can reflectcomplex characteristics of the objects such as the spatial distribution andtarget structure, so it is always used for target detection in large scenes.Compared with the low resolution SAR, high resolution SAR images candemonstrate the structure characteristics of radar target in detail and reflectthe difference between targets. SAR development trend towards highresolution requests simulation with higher quality. For large scenes andcomplex targets, electromagnetic computation will be too time-consuming.This paper presents a method applied to real-time SAR simulation for largescenes. Ray tracing technique in computer graphics is applied to the SARsimulation, combining with the high computing performance of GPU, themethod successes in precise SAR simulation with high efficiency for complex3D scenes.This paper carries out raw data simulation by using ray tracing algorithm and simulating SAR synthetic aperture process, then generates SAR imagesby Range-Doppler algorithm. Because the software takes the advantage of theGPU parallel computation ability, it solves the time-cost trade-off caused byray tracing, and the efficiency has been largely enhanced. On this basis, bycalculating the shadow area under each incident wave, the simulator cangenerate precise shadow in SAR images.In addition, combined with the application of "staring imaging" inmicrowave imaging, this paper also studies the new system of microwaveimaging methods. Different from the traditional real aperture radar, this paperrefers to ghost imaging theory in the field of quantum optics, to calculate thetarget in the imaging region. After comparing the imaging effect of existingalgorithms, the compression ghost imaging algorithm is used as the mainalgorithm for the experiments. Dealing with the data by ray tracing technique,we use pulse compression to separate the signal in azimuth, and use ghostimaging to calculate signal in range direction. This is the method presented inthis paper for microware staring imaging. The experimental results show thefeasibility of staring imaging used as a microwave imaging algorithm underthe new system in the computer simulation stage.
