Compared with microwave and infrared imaging technology development, the millimeter wave imaging technology is relatively backward. But the millimeter wave has good penetrability and moderate resolution, this feature can complete tasks which the microwave and infrared was unable to complete. Today, the millimeter wave imaging technology has been applied to various fields, and play an important role. For the resolution of the imaging system and real time, the millimeter wave imaging technology has been put forward higher request. So it is inevitable trend for further development and utilization of millimeter wave.According to the different methods of work, Millimeter wave imaging system is divided into two ways: passive and active. The Passive millimeter wave imaging system is refers to Millimeter wave radiometer system, and the active millimeter wave imaging system refers to the radar imaging system. In recent years, with the constant improvement of the application requirements, the demand of Resolution of imaging system and the requirement of real-time is becoming higher and higher. This article will study of two kinds of millimeter wave imaging system respectively. For passive system, focuses on millimeter wave image processing problems.First, this paper analyses the characteristics of different objects in millimeter wave band, simply introduces the principle of millimeter wave radiometer imaging, and analyzes the principle of passive millimeter wave staring imaging on this basis. Through the optical model of passive millimeter wave imaging model of staring imaging system, which laid a foundation for subsequent image processing work. Second, this paper focus on no source rehabilitation of millimeter wave graph. By giving millimeter wave image degradation model, analyzes the reconstruction theory, and classic millimeter wave image restoration algorithm is given, whose effectiveness is verified by simulation. Then, studies the active millimeter wave staring imaging technology, and did simulation experiment on Target point source, so the feasibility of the method is validated.Finally, According to the characteristics of the millimeter wave image, came up with a frequency domain combined with the airspace of regularization constraint least square algorithm and EM algorithm(maximum expected algorithm), and did simulation verification of the two kinds of algorithms. Through the comparison of simulation results analysis the performance of the algorithm; then the traditional nonlinear spectrum extrapolation method was improved, the millimeter wave image is verified.
