With the development of society and economy, vehicle ownership is growing at a rapidrate in China. As the number of detection stations is limited, improving the efficiency ofautomotive vehicle detection queuing has been an urgent issue we need to solve. In this paper,based on the traditional queue management system, a new system of automotive vehicledetection queuing is designed. It combined with the network, increase the reservationfunction, which can make reservations of the time of detection in advance through logginginto the internet site for customers, then the customer who arrive the detection station duringthe scheduled period allows higher priority to be serviced. The improvement not only savingthe waiting time of the customers, but also relieve the overcrowding problem of detectionstation to a large degree.The system is divided into two parts: on-site queuing software and online reservationsoftware. To enhance the convenience and security of the system, the system structure adoptsthe combination of C/S and B/S model. The site queuing software use C/S model, and theonline reservation software use B/S model. In the part of on-site queuing software, thefunctions of number-generating machine, information releasing and queue jumping areseparately designed and implemented by the demand analysis of this part. In the part of onlinereservation software, by classification of user roles and modules, this method mainlyimplements the functions of user registration, user login, detection stations informationpublicity, reservation information disclosure, owners reservations, reservation query,reservation changes, vehicle registration and vehicle information changes. Finally, this systemuse SQL Server2000Database to store information of reservation, owners registration,detection stations, vehicle registration, on-site queuing and detection.The system developed in this paper can be widely used in almost all the service place’squeuing system. It can greatly reduce the resources waste caused by unnecessary queuing. Inaddition to be compatible to traditional queuing model, it will gradually guide people to adopta more reasonable way of queuing, thus they can more reasonable and efficient use of publicresources.
