The electricity consumption monitoring system for large public buildings is a system thatuse telecommunication equipments, observe and control units and sotfware system to do thereal time building electricity consumption data acquisition, storage, statistics and data display. This document mainly concentrates on the study of several components involved in thissystem, including central database system, data receiving and parsing system, dynamicconfiguration control system and data display system, which constitute the core of the entiresystem and determine the performance, safety and eiffciency of the monitoring system. The receiving and parsing system employs multi-threads synchronous approach torealize the concurrent operations, in the mean time apache middleware has been used as abuffer to make sure that the received data would not be lost and ensure the stability and safety. The configuration system mainly utilizes the WinForm+WebService mode to do thebasic building information maintenance and the configurations for building branches, wherethe information maintenance contains the basic building information, administrative regions, building type, electricity consumption classification dictionaries as well as the other dataclassification dictionaries. The configurations for building branches include the configurationsof the electricity consumption collectors, instruments, branches and classification formulas. The data display system has been designed with the WebForm three layers approach, presenting the clear and exquisite web-based reports and data graphics, which display thedetailed electricity consumption data, including building information and electricityconsumption data for single building and the electricity consumption comparisons amongmultiple buildings. A single or multiple curve graphs or bar charts can be generated accordingto different electricity consumption classification (special electricity consumption,air-conditioning electricity consumption, general light electricity and power consumption ortotal electricity consumption), building area electricity consumption (unit building area, unitair-conditioning area, unit heating area or total area) or time settings (hour, day, month orspecific time).
