Research On Multi-source Data Fusion Technologies For Preparation Modeling

CAD/CAM technology which is widely used in design and manufacturing process of dentalrestoration has triggered a "technological revolution". Design of preparation is a key issue for theentire dental restoration. Combined with the application research of dental clinical medicine andtaking CT data and optical scanning data as research object, this paper has systematically studied thetheory, methods and key technologies of multi-source data fusion and multi-material modeling. Themain contents and results are as follows:(1) The position registration of multi-source data is studied. Firstly,3D models are reconstructedfrom CT scanning and optical scanning data and the characteristics and accuracy of models areanalyzed; next, a feature line extracting method based on heuristic search strategy is used to acquirethe fusion region of optical scanning model; finally, the registration solution which contains initialregistration based on interactive pickup algorithm and accurate registration based on ICP algorithmis proposed.(2) The deformation based on iterative multi-source data fusion technology is researched. Thefusion algorithm based on Laplace deformation is proposed. Firstly, significant feature points in meshare extracted as deformation constraint; next, in order to make sure the mesh is natural andsmoothness after deformation, iterative method and the weight coefficient design are proposed for thecharacteristics of the preparation; finally, molar, canine, incisor teeth are considered as three types ofrepresentative test objects to analyze the efficiency and precision of fusion algorithms.(3) Two multi-material modeling methods are studied. The volume data constructing methodbased on AFT and Delaunay algorithm is proposed to change the model from surface data into volumedata; contrast with the concept of geometric space mathematical model of material space is built;according to the characteristics of the model, the multi-material modeling method based on thedistance field and material interface is proposed.Based on the above theory and algorithms, this paper develops location registration, multi-sourcefusion and multi-material modeling program modules in the platform of VC++2008and OpenGLgraphics library. Then, the effectiveness and practicality of the method have been verified by a seriesof tests through the software.
