The Construction Of Campus’ Large-scale Wi-Fi Network

Along with the rapid development of information technology andcommunication network, people are increasingly requirements for accessing networkmore convenient, flexible and mobile. As the traditional wired network has someshortcomings like difficultly expanding, heavy workload of maintenance and weakmobility, it is unable to satisfy people’s needs for network any more.Especially the rapid development of education information today, the campusnetwork plays a key role in campus environment. With the popularity of wirelessterminal devices, more and more teachers and students on campus have Wi-Fi devices.The wired network has been unable to meet the teachers and students want wheneverand wherever possible the requirements of access network. Because of its advantageof mobile office, easy extending, quick and easy installation, easy maintenance, etc,wireless network has been widely used.In this paper, through studying the development of Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi standards andtechnologies related, etc, combined with the actual situation of Nanchang University,through analysis, research, planning, design, completed the construction of a campusWi-Fi network which is based on802.11n standard. Through the wireless networkand wired network combination, cover design of campus scene, selection ofthe backup solution, etc, solves the coverage problems of campus Wi-Fi network well,at the same time, protected the original network assets, improve the network speedand ensure the compatibility and stability of the network.When the campus Wi-Fi network construction is completed, it shall beconvenient for the teachers and students to connect to the network; it is also helpfulfor school administrators to manage the campus network uniformly. All in all, theproject can ensure the stability of each of the campus business, promote schoolteaching and scientific research and improve the comprehensive strength of school.
