Small Cell Base Station Upper Layer Protocol Software Framework Design And Implementation

Taiwan IEK estimated that sales of Small Cell base station of approximately3.01million units in2014, and it could increase to43.35million units by2018. Then, itwill be the take-off year of Small Cell in2014. But when coming to the difference ofhardware and application environment, the teams often repeat the development of thesame function. Besides, it is not convenient to code with the difference while the ideaof framework is widely spread in the general computer system and is good todevelopment of software application. Therefore, it is significant to develop a SmallCell base station software framework that can be used for a variety of standard SmallCell base stations. If so, not only the development and maintenance of the commonfunctions can be put together, but also a uniform design structure can be used and thegood design ideas can be followed in each project. What’s more, the complexities ofhardware and application environment are left to the framework and it makes thereuse of code and overall design more easily and the maintenance more convenient.The main work and the thesis consist of:1) Analyzing the problems of development, deployment and architecture to theupper-layer software of Small Cell base station when comes to differenthardware and application environment, and providing solutions to theseproblems.2) Introduction of the idea of framework.3) According to the framework design idea, it designs a software frameworkapplicable to the Small Cell base station.4) Adding debugging feature to the framework, and it designs a series ofcomponent to support debugging.5) It applies the framework to TD-LTE Small Cell product. According to theoperation and testing, the framework can greatly reduce the workload of migration and deployment of upper layer software applications.
