During the study of ancient Chinese characters, we need to refer to a large number ofancient literatures, it is efficient for experts to work with the use of information technology.Therefore, it is necessary to establish the knowledge base of ancient documents to meet therequirements of Chinese ancient characters’ study, laying the foundation of ancient Chinesecharacter study and selection of reference books recommended system.Sikuquanshu contains a great deal of valuable ancient documents. This paper exploresthe recommendation of related articles for the convenience of studying Chinese ancientcharacter, designing and constructing the history department " Sikuquanshuzongmu "ontology.First, this paper makes analysis and comparison of the common domestic andforeign ontology modeling method, and builds a new method(a similar iterative method) ofontology construction for the history department " Sikuquanshuzongmu ", selected knowledgeengineering method, prototyping construction method and building evolutionary approachbased on OWL ontology; Secondly, analyzing the current ontology building tools andontology description languages and frameworks comparative, this paper selects Protégésoftware as a development tool, OWL ontology description language as an ontologydescription language; Thirdly, this paper establishes a " Sikuquanshuzongmu " historycategory relevant bibliographic ontology semantic model to describe the relationship betweenthe properties and bibliography by machine-readable way; finally, this paper builds anontology model of " Sikuquanshuzongmu " category in the history, achieves a visual basicquery and display, verifies the validity of the history partition " Sikuquanshuzongmu " libraryby instantiating.
