Research And Application On Ontology Modeling And Ontology-based Book Information Retrieval

With the rapid development of information technology and the popularity of the internet,there are rich source of information,on the one hand,it is easier for human being access to information,on the other hand,vast amounts of information is prone to a not good phenomenon which called "information overload",it will let the user Submerged in the ocean of information and it is not easy for the user find the good information which they really want.Therefore,information retrieval technology became a hot spot of computer science and technology field.There are two disadvantages of the traditional retrieval technology,first of all,it lack Semantic inference because of based on matching keywords,the system will return irrelevant information or omission a lot of useful information.Secondly,because of the non-structural or semi-structured Web pages,disorder of the hyperlinks as well as the massive and diversity of information,it makes people hard to find their information. Therefore,we urgently need a new information retrieval technology to solve these problems.In order to improve the quality of information retrieval,this thesis will introduce the ideology of Ontology to the book information retrieval system,Ontology can used to describe the concept and relationship between them.It contains complete core concept and enrich semantic relations in area.Using Ontology model in an information retrieval system can make computers understand the information,then can achieve semantic retrieval.This thesis studied the Computer field.At the beginning,the thesis researched basic knowledge,principle of modeling,description language,modeling tools of Ontology.Analysis the existing Ontology modeling method with developed by other researchers who devote themselves to the Ontology study.Reference the software engineering development methods,this thesis research and summary a new Ontology modeling method call Ontology life-cycle method which is suitable for construct the book Ontology model,thesis also construct a Computer Book Ontology Model according to the Ontology life-cycle method.Secondly,the thesis design a framework of the Ontology-based Intelligent Information Retrieval System through the ideology of Ontology,then study the key technologies which involved in the semantic retrieval,for example,Ontology storage,Ontology-based retrieval optimization,semantic retrieval extended and so on,which provide technical support to compliment the retrieval system.At last,the thesis compliments the Ontology-based book Information Retrieval system with the Ontology model and semantic retrieval technology.In order to assess the results of system,the study use some information retrieval system evaluation indicators like recall ratio and precision ratio to testing the retrieval result of the system,the result proved that the Ontology-based retrieval system have higher quality than the traditional keyword-based retrieval system.
