Research On Conversion Of Mathematical Formula Format Based On MathML

To convert the different mathematical formula formats to a unified format is the basis ofmathematical formula retrieval, in order to ensure the universality and compatibility ofmathematical information.Firstly some main forms of mathematical formula expression are introduced as well asthe conversion techniques and retrieval techniques which are used in the network and thecomputer. A new mathematical formula format with high performance ability of mathematicsgrammar and semantic was designed specifically for the retrieval requirement. In order toimprove the retrieval efficiency and accuracy, some attributes are added on the basis of theresearch and analysis on the widely used formats just like LaTeX、MathML and MTEF. Thenthe conversion from MathML format to the new mathematical formula format is realizedusing the tree structure. And the prefix expression plays an important role in the conversionfrom LaTeX and Infix formats to the new mathematical formula format. The formatconversion process is described in great detail in this paper. At last, the validity of themathematical description format and conversion algorithms are validated through theexperiments.
