3D Building Indoor Models Based On CityGML

With the fast developments in multi-function and business buildings and the increasing popularity of location based service (LBS), especially the comprehensive buildings like business center, luxurious hotel and CBD office, there is increasing demands for indoor LBS and indoor navigation applications. Researches on indoor modeling will not only promote LBS application, but also enrich the content of three-dimensional city modeling.Unfortunately, efforts of city modeling are mainly focused on outdoor scenes, there is few attentions paid on standard, technology and application. This thesis firstly analyzes developments in 3-d scene modeling and establishes a practical model for displaying and exploring the 3-d indoor scenes by comparisons of the applicability and advantages of different models for 3-d spatial data sets. Following contents are the main ideas of this paper:Firstly,the thesis analyzes and summarizes the elements of building model,establishs a four levels building model. These levels are LOD1 for the block model, LOD2 for building frame model, LOD3 for floor-level model, LOD4 for room interior model. These four levels form a multi-level conceptual model of scenes of indoor buidings.Secondly, the paper describes the semantic, geometric and topological characteristics of the indoor model and builds mode files for the building indoor models using CityGML according the levels of detail (LOD) of buildings.Thirdly, the paper establishes model using SketchUp and display in ArcGIS and realizes the simple analysis functionos of attribute query, spatial analysis and other functions to verify the levels of detail (LOD) of building.The practical results shows that the indoor model developed in this paper has the advantage of modeling the indoor scenes and it can be used in indoor scene modeling.
