First,this paper makes a brief introduction of the image coding knowl-edge. And based on the requirements of image compression algorithm, the new concept of generalized block transformation is put forward and makes a systematic analysis. Then the paper gives some specific examples which focuses on generalized block transformation and classic block transformation. Compared with classic block transformation, the generalized block transforma-tion has removed blocking effects at a certain extent. The generalized block transformation,which is local in algorithm, is suitable for efficient realizing in chip. It overcomes the shortcomings of the classic method, while inherits the advantages of wavelet transformation and block transformation. The research shows there’s some immanent relation between generalized block transforma-tion and multi-bank wavelets. |
